About Benshaw Drive Systems

Benshaw drives and soft starters are used in industrial applications where dependable motor starting, speed control, and equipment protection are essential to daily operations.

Control Concepts Dallas services current and legacy Benshaw equipment used throughout water and wastewater, mining, cement, oil and gas, HVAC, OEM machinery, and other demanding motor-control environments.

Our technicians diagnose drive and starter faults, programming problems, loose electrical connections, cooling failures, power-section issues, and problems involving connected motors or operating conditions. We inspect and test the equipment, perform repairs, provide preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot the overall application to identify the source of the problem.

The Repair Process

When a Benshaw drive or soft starter develops a problem, Control Concepts Dallas evaluates the equipment and surrounding operating conditions to determine whether the issue originates within the Benshaw equipment or elsewhere in the application.

Our technicians review incoming power, fault history, equipment settings, electrical connections, cooling components, connected motors, mechanical loads, and environmental conditions. Before applying full power, we inspect and test the power sections, back up existing settings when appropriate, and verify operation through controlled power-up and motor testing.

Once the cause is identified, we recommend the most practical solution, whether that involves repair, component replacement, upgrade, or retrofit. Proper ventilation, clean operating conditions, moisture protection, secure electrical connections, and periodic inspections can also help reduce future problems.

Most drive failures can be avoided through preventative maintenance.
